EDIT: Links no longer work. You'll get a "Sorry, this can't be processed right now"

Both of these Track Packs can be exported to Rock Band 4. Since they're Xbox 360 links, they would show up as a full track pack on the Xbox 360 purchase history. On your Xbox One, they will show up as DLC for Rock Band 4 instead. To install it, simply go to the Ready to Install section of Rock Band 4 and all of the DLC should be there after a few minutes.

Also, if you see errors like "Ooops, can't see the page" try again. I had to try it around 5 or 6 times before it worked on my phone. Just did it for a friend on a computer and it worked right away. These packs new go for around $20-$40 on eBay, so can't go wrong with free exports!

While you're here, as a friendly reminder. The Rock Band 3 Export will expire on December 1st, 2020. So if you're looking to bring all of your Rock Band 3 (disc) songs to Rock Band 4, you can purchase the Export Key for $14.99. If you purchase it before December 1st, you're good to go since you can keep the songs and export them at any time.

Rock Band 3 Export Key (Xbox One)*
https://www.microsoft.com/en-us/p/rock-band-3-export-pack/bv9gkpvvw5qw

* This link works even if you never played Rock Band 3 on Xbox 360, which is usually a requirement to get the export key. I can confirm that I was able to purchase it using the link above.

As of this time, these packs are only available on PlayStation if you redeem a code for the Metal or the Country track pack. The Rock Band 3 Export Key can be purchased on PlayStation 4 through Rock Band 4 as long as you've played Rock Band 3 on the same profile. If you go to the direct link on PlayStation, it won't let you purchase it directly.

EDIT: Seems to only work with the US links at the moment, even if they show up for free in other regions.

Since a lot of questions are coming up. I'll add a F.A.Q up here! (This is for Xbox at the moment, I may add a PlayStation FAQ later.

Frequently Asked Questions
---------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------

1. What can I export to Rock Band 4?

- Rock Band Metal Track Pack - https://marketplace.xbox.com/en-US/games/offers/0ccf023f-0000-4000-8000-000045410829 (Currently Free!)
- Rock Band Classic Track Pack*
- Rock Band Country Track Pack 1 - https://marketplace.xbox.com/en-US/games/offers/0ccf0240-0000-4000-8000-000045410829 (Currently Free!)
- Rock Band Country Track Pack 2*
- Rock Band AC/DC**
- Rock Band Track Pack Vol. 2*
- Rock Band 3*** - https://www.microsoft.com/en-us/p/rock-band-3-export-pack/bv9gkpvvw5qw

* These Track Packs require a brand new copy of the game. The code to export these track packs is located behind the games instruction manual. Redeem the 25 digit code and you should be able to see it as DLC on Rock Band 4.

** Similar to the other Track Packs, you can either get a new copy or you can go on eBay and purchase a digital code for $5. Since there was a lot of copies of this game, plenty of sellers selling the export for $5. That's how I got mine.

*** Only available until December 1st, 2020. After this date, the game will NO longer be exportable. So grab it while you can, even if you don't plan on playing anytime soon since you can always use it later. Usually this REQUIRES to have played Rock Band 3 on a Xbox 360 previously, however using the link above lets you purchase the Export WITHOUT having to play on the Xbox 360.

Rock Band Track Pack Vol. 1 was only released on PlayStation 2/Wii

2. What did I miss? What can't be exported?

- Rock Band
- Rock Band 2
- Rock Band Green Day**
- Rock Band LEGO
- Rock Band Blitz (Digital Only Title, currently delisted)
- Rock Band Beatles*

*Rock Band Beatles NEVER received an export, those songs are only available through the game disc.
**Even though the export for Rock Band Green Day is no longer available, most of the Green Day songs can be purchased.

3. Can I buy a brand new copy of Rock Band 2 to get the export codes?

- Even if you buy it for the export code, it will no longer let you proceed with the purchase. I tried this recently for science and even though the Rock Band 2 export code comes up, it won't let you proceed with it.

4. Instruments, what are my options?

- Xbox can use Rock Band 4 instruments (Mad Catz or PDP). However, if you have old Rock Band 2 or Rock Band 3 instruments, you require the Xbox Legacy Adapter. This Adapter that retailed for $20, now goes for $200 approximately online since they're no longer making them. It is NOT required if you get the Rock Band 4 instruments, this is ONLY needed IF you have old equipment you'd like to use. PlayStation did this a lot better, they don't need the legacy adapter to connect Rock Band 2/3 instruments (PS3) to Rock Band 4 (PS4/PS5)

I'd strongly suggest to check OfferUp, Craiglists, Facebook Marketplace. I got lucky and recently got a Band in a Box bundle for the Xbox One for $100, but it was pure luck considering that they usually go for $300-$500 since they're no longer in production.

5. Are they making more?

- Nope, they recently made a statement saying they won't be making hardware any time soon. There's the Mad Catz hardware and the PDP (Rivals) hardware, after the PDP contract expired, at this time they're not making anything else

6. Is the game still supported?

- Yes! They keep adding weekly DLC into the game.

7. Is there a place where I can check currently and delisted songs?

- Yup! https://rbdb.online/

If you search for a song or a band on the database. The songs that show up in red (Like Toxicity) are no longer available for purchase, anything in black is available.

8. There's a "Rock Band Rewind" section that let's you purchase select songs that were on Rock Band 1, 2, 3, LEGO as DLC. Check out the list here

Oh man, this brings me back. I remember getting the AC/DC live pack at Walmart for 5 bucks during Rock Band's heyday.

Wish I still had the old instruments to play it.

From what I've seen so far, on the PSN store, it will say they're free. However, it would require you redeem them using the codes included on the physical copies of the track packs (behind the manual).

Whenever I try to redeem them it says 'sorry, this offer isn't available in your region'.

Does region hopping not work for 360 titles?

It does not sadly. You might be able to get around it if you can connect a 360 to a VPN.

Well hopefully these track pack giveaways are a general promotion before being delisted or something. Maybe we're just all early! I'm staying optimistic ;)

IIRC that's a negative. However, what region you from? I can check to see if they're available

I'm in the UK. They show up and say FREE when I use the links (and change the region at the bottom of the store page) but then tell me that they're not available when I try to redeem.

Just want to make sure I am understanding this correctly...
So if I never played RB3 on Xbox, I should be able to add these to my account and then buy the export key and the contents of both packs plus the disc songs from RB3 will be added to my RB4?

Correct!

Harmonix requires you to play Rock Band 3 on Xbox 360 in order to be eligible for the Rock Band 3 export to Rock Band 4. However, that link straight up lets you purchase the export for Rock Band 3. (80+ songs).

So if you redeem both of those track packs and the export key. When you go play Rock Band 4 and check for the DLC, you'll have around 120+ songs ready to go.

From the original links, did it via my iPhone, changed the region before hitting 'buy'. Didn't work on my Chrome browser for some reason.

Downloading now! Need that Godsmack.

Edit: imagine my disappointment when I realised I had the wrong track 😬

Thank you for sharing. I enjoyed RB on the 360, but never bought RB4. As such, there doesn't appear to be a way to play on the X1 without spending a couple hundred dollars on the legacy adapter for my older instruments, unfortunately. Wish I hadn't waited.

Does anyone have a list of the songs in these 2 packs? I'm trying to determine if it's worth it to add a credit card to my Xbox account to download these.
  • #32
So I was under the impression that a Xbox One adapter was insanely expensive, and opted to use my PS4 to start drumming this gen. After one PDP(?) adapter broke, I'm now using a "ROLL LIMITLESS - CUSTOM ROCK BAND ADAPTER", which seems fine.

I don't have a PS3, so no import of RB3 for me there, but is switching over to Xbox still prohibitively pricey?

I played rock band once some time ago and even unlocked some achievements. Do I need to own a disc when I transfer the songs?

Also, where could I find a new guitar for the game?

On Xbox, all I had to do was go to the RB4 page and "Install All" of the DLC. It should show up as Ready to Install if you've done those two things.

Already had all the songs I care about from the Metal track pack, but you can't beat free. Grabbed the Country one too even though I'll probably never play them lmao. I actually noticed they were free on PSN a week or two ago and I think I managed to redeem them, but I didn't think to check on Xbox

If you imported Rock Band 1 to 2 or 2 to 3 back in the days, those exports are still valid in Rock Band 4. If you never got the exports back then, you would not be able to export them now.
I played rock band once some time ago and even unlocked some achievements. Do I need to own a disc when I transfer the songs?

No need to own the disc. If you use any of the 3 links above, you can export those songs to Rock Band 4 and it will be listed as DLC. As far as the instruments go, I'll be honest. They may not be cheap to acquire since they're no longer in production and they recently mentioned that even though the game is still supported, they're not looking to make more instruments at the moment.

I'm going to make a FAQ shortly at the top to answer some common questions and what not.

If you have Rock Band 4 on your Xbox. Simply go to Manage Game > Look for the Ready to Install section (game DLC) and ALL exports, previously purchased DLC going from Rock Band 1 until now will be available there.

Some folks from the UK were able to get it, check this post
So I was under the impression that a Xbox One adapter was insanely expensive, and opted to use my PS4 to start drumming this gen. After one PDP(?) adapter broke, I'm now using a "ROLL LIMITLESS - CUSTOM ROCK BAND ADAPTER", which seems fine.

It can be yes.

PlayStation doesn't require an adapter to get PS3 Rock Band accessories with the PS4 or the PS5. The Xbox One requires an adapter IF you plan on using older instruments like the wireless Rock Band 2 guitar/drums. The adapter used to retail for $20, but now it averages for $200.

I got lucky not long ago and got the whole band in a box kit for $100 on the Facebook Marketplace, however not everyone may be as lucky since they got for $300+ if you want the full set. If you're looking just for a guitar, you're looking at $100-$200. Sometimes cheaper, but you definitely want to check OfferUp/Facebook Marketplace, local places like that.
